3. What does 'being queer' mean to you?

“I have always considered it despicable to grovel for your life as if life were a favor. If you cannot live the way you want, there is no point in living”

― Reinaldo Arenas

4. What are some obstacles faced by people who identify as queer?

5. How did you become involve with art?

6. How does your gender help you define your art work and viceversa?

Growing up I desperately wanted to be looked at and celebrated for who I was, instead I received a negative attention that left me isolated from my social and familial life. I remember being younger and never wanting to get my picture taken by people in my family because I felt like I didn't belong, like they didn't want me to be seen. I wanted someone that really accepted me to take my picture. Knowing that there was a lot of work to be done with myself I began to take my own picture. What I didn't know at the time was that I started a self healing process and a romantic relationship with my camera that does not exist anywhere else in my life.

7. Are you hoping to make a living from your artwork or art form?

• A political statement, as well as a sexual orientation, which advocates breaking binary thinking by recognizing both sexual orientation and gender identity as potentially fluid.
