 ABOUT THE BLOG:

The word Queer can be used to describe someone's sexual orientation or stand as a political statement. Its definition has many dimensions, from gender identification to a resistance against structural rigidity to a strange sensation or state of being. Queer is not a word that many people clearly understand when it is used to describe gender. Because queer means different things to different people, I want to make a collection of different art works to show the different meanings. For my project, I am asking queer people across America to represent with videos, images, poems, and songs “What does it mean to be queer in America”? With the different responses I aim to gain a better understanding of the word queer.
